What is Reflexology

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that primarily uses massage of the feet and lower legs to support balance and wellbeing throughout the body. Reflexology with Innermost Harmony also incorporates arm and hand massage which is especially supportive if the client needs to remain seated. Through the gentle engagement of pressure points and compression, its techniques allow tension to be released by unblocking locked up areas and encouraging the body’s natural flow of energy.

While Reflexology is a form of massage therapy, it is not a typical massage. It focuses on the feet, lower legs, hands and arms by stimulating the specific reflex areas that energetically correspond with vital organs. Many clients have also reported experiencing support for their posture, neck and back issues through the reflexology treatment. Benefits of reflexology can include relaxation, improved circulation and balance within the body.

Reflexology is not a scientifically proven medical treatment for disease, but studies suggest reflexology may be a helpful complementary treatment, particularly for stress and anxiety and also may assist with alleviating the symptoms of PMS. When you engage a reflexologist who brings a caring quality of touch it can be relaxing and anxiety reducing, many clients say that they feel calmer and less anxious after a reflexology session. For people who feel a lot of tension in their feet, reflexology greatly supports relaxation.

Clients, especially older clients, say that it feels as though they are more steady on their feet after a session. Many clients also report a feeling of a ‘bounce in the step’ and a lightness and delicacy when they walk. As reflexology applies gentle and supportive touch, it may lift your mood and increase energy levels. Massage therapy generally may increase relaxation and a sense of well-being and also support with positive mood changes. A more relaxed and settled state also supports with stress and anxiety levels. Reflexology can support to
